WFP Recruitment Process

Although the World Food Programme headquarters is located in Rome, Italy, the UNWFP works to combat hunger all over the world. If you are interested in applying for one of the many World Food Programme jobs or internships, you should first prepare for their hiring process. For more information on how to obtain one of the available WFP jobs, see below:

  • Application Process: In order to view current job opportunities with the WFP, you will need to go to the WFP careers webpage. To apply you will need to select a vacant position, review its requirements, then create a user account on the website. From there you will be able to complete the online application and upload your CV.
  • Screening Interview: Once your documents have been screened and matched for the role you have applied for, you should anticipate participation in a brief phone interview. Phone interviews often last around 10-30 minutes and will include questions pertaining to your motivations, personality, and previous education and work experience.
  • Employment Exam: Regardless of if you have applied for a World Food Programme internship or for a more experienced role, you may be required to take and pass a pre-hire entrance exam.
  • Assessment Centre: Depending on the position of programme you have applied for, you may be required to participate in an assessment centre. An assessment centre will often last the majority of the day and include job simulation assessments, group activities, assessment testing, and interviews with many other applicants present.
  • Personal Interviews: Your personal interviews with the WFP will most likely be held before a recruitment panel. You should also be prepared to engage in one-on-one and group interviews as well during this process.

United Nations World Food Programme Aptitude Tests

Regardless of the role you are pursuing within the UNWFP, you may be required to take a series of aptitude tests. These tests will either be performed online or in written format. The purpose of these tests is to ensure that you possess the skills and personality traits necessary to carry out each of the duties required for the role being offered.

JobTestPrep’s exclusive job preparation materials include in-depth practice tests and study guides for the most common recruitment assessment tests, including numerical and verbal reasoning, abstract and logical reasoning, technical aptitude, situational judgment, personality questionnaires, Microsoft Office, and case study/ in-tray exercises. Preparing for the UNWFP recruitment process beforehand will give you a better idea of what to expect and boost your chances for success.
