All positions require their candidates to complete at least a numerical and a verbal reasoning test after submitting their CVs. Further types of aptitude tests include logical reasoning and spatial awareness tests. Upon successful completion of this stage, applicants are invited to a competency-based interview. Additional kinds of assessments involve case studies and assessment days.

Bank of Ireland Assessment Tests

The most common types of online aptitude tests you will encounter in Bank of Ireland’s hiring process are numerical, verbal reasoning, and logical reasoning tests. Improve your chances of excelling in the assessment stage by utilising the required practice tests.

Numerical Test

The numerical reasoning test examines how well you work with numerical data. The multiple-choice questions require you to analyse charts, graphs, and tables, and to perform calculations based on the information presented. In the calculations, you will be asked to compute percentages, ratios, and inflation changes.

Verbal Test

In the verbal reasoning test, you will demonstrate your ability to comprehend and evaluate passages of text. Each paragraph is followed by a question which you must answer based on the information presented. In some cases, you will be asked to evaluate whether a statement is true, false, or indeterminable based on the text.

Logical Reasoning

The logical and inductive reasoning test is designed to examine your logical and analytical skills. You will likely encounter a sequence of shapes and patterns, in which you must identify the next item in the sequence presented.
